Urbandale 4th of July Celebration

Urbandale is Home to one of the Largest 4th of July Celebrations in the Area!

We invite you to bring your family and celebrate Independence Day in Urbandale.  The Urbandale 4th of July celebration is the largest celebration in the Des Moines metro area.  This event is held at Lion’s Park in the heart of Urbandale.  This long standing tradition includes a 2 mile long parade, a premier carnival, entertainment garden, live music as well as a variety of other activities.  The annual community event is organized by a group of volunteers and is primarily self funded with help from local business sponsors and fundraising.

Extra disability parking will be available during July 2-4 at Urbandale Senior Recreation Center.

The Police Command Post is located inside Lions Park Shelter House. Please visit during the celebration for lost and found or information regarding a lost child. For after hours requests, please contact the non-emergency number at 515-222-3322 or 515-222-3321.

The city is tentatively planning to have the splash pad open on July 2-4. This depends on the status of the irrigation ban. The splash pad will turn off at 6pm.
